My name is Ernest Bartley, Founder of Make It Make Sense Mentoring Program and Podcast, a Savannah, GA based initiative dedicated to prevention of gun violence by providing mentorship and community-led solutions.
As a formerly incarcerated individual who was sentenced to 151 months and ultimately served 120, in federal prison, I made the decision to confront my past, take responsibility for the damage caused and commit myself to doing the necessary work to ensure others do not repeat the same mistakes. Rather than returning to the community silent or disengaged, I returned with purpose. My goal is to right my wrongs by helping others make better choices before the justice system becomes their teacher.
